What each league does and does not tell you
Allen Community Ice Rink · Learn to Skate: Hockey 1
THE CHEAPEST WAY INTO HOCKEY IN NORTH TEXAS. Classes are 30 minutes with 25 minutes of instruction. Hockey 1 requires only gloves and a helmet - skates are rented free on class day - so a family can test whether their kid takes to the sport for about $150-300 all in. Hockey 2, 3 and 4 move to Saturdays and require full gear.

Priced per class, not per season: $40 to drop in, or $25 a class if you commit to the whole semester. The $200-225 here is that $25 rate across a typical 2-month semester at one class a week - the league does not publish a semester total, so treat it as arithmetic rather than a quoted price. 45-minute sessions on USA Hockey principles, grouped by age and skill. Free skate rentals on class day. Also at Frisco, McKinney, Richardson, Euless, Farmers Branch, Mansfield and Northlake.

Also runs at Frisco, McKinney, Richardson, Euless, Farmers Branch, Mansfield, Northlake and Nytex. The league does not publish a game count or total ice hours for standard divisions.

The standard competitive path for a North Texas kid, and the most expensive single fee in this index. 8U plays a half-ice format. A 10U-18U Enhanced Bundle runs $1,949 ($2,049 on a payment plan), and a separate 8U Premier Initiative out of Valley Ranch is $4,950 a season.

A season buys 20 hours of on-ice practice, 10 game hours, 3 evaluation skates, the Fall and Winter Jamboree tournaments, individual player assessments and written evaluations. That is more detail about what you GET than any other programme in this index publishes - and no fee at all. Allen also sells Stick Time at $12 a session, capped at 25 skaters, with punch-card discounts.
Source · verified 2026-10-19Allen Hockey Association (Allen Bandits) · Competitive club
A new competitive club in Allen, first season 2026-27, with tryouts and a camp. Fees sit on a 'Season Fees & Details' page we could not read. Worth tracking: a brand-new club is the one organisation in this index with a reason to answer an email from a local newsletter.

Registration fees come from each organisation's own pages where they publish them. Most do not. Where a figure is our own estimate or comes from a page that has not been updated in years, the table says so under the number rather than leaving you to assume it is current.
Gear prices are retail, checked in October 2026, mostly at Academy. That is deliberate: a helmet costs what it costs on Preston Road, so national pricing is fine for equipment. League fees are different and have to be local, so we never substitute a national average for one.
Where a total reads “from” a number, something required has no published price, usually a uniform a coach arranges privately. We would rather show you a floor than a tidy number that is wrong. Uniform figures marked as our estimate are exactly that.
Socks, water bottles and other things every league requires are left out of totals, because adding them to every row inflates all of them equally and changes no comparison.
Think a figure is wrong, or paid something different? Tell us. A receipt from a parent beats anything we can find online, and this page gets better every time someone does.
